Through the work of the sub-committee, the Society has been instrumental in saving many buildings of note including Addington Square, Denmark Hill Station and part of Windsor Walk. The Society has also been instrumental in influencing new development to make a positive contribution to the area, and works with local residents and tenants groups where there are common issues. The current composition of the Planning sub-committee is: Tim Gaymer, Anthony Kyrke-Smith, Elizabeth Borowiecka, Jason Leech, Robert Potz, Jonathan Hunt, Paul Cohoon, Somayya Yaqub, Michael Galt and Tom Harvey. Potential new members are welcome to attend a meeting as an observer initially. The Society is currently under represented by members from the Myatt Fields and Brunswick Park areas.

Construction of a single storey rear extension, a ground floor bay window to the rear of the outrigger. A detached single storey studio room with a bin and cycle store and a new 1.8m rear boundary garden brick wall adjoining 14 Addington Square and the removal of 2 garden cherry trees. This proposal is a significant improvement on the previous proposal and does indeed respect the original listed buildings rear wall and original fenestration and ensures the extension is sympathetic and subordinate to its neighbouring pair as well as providing sensible and useable accommodation. We note the proposal to build a brick boundary wall to 1.8m high where previously there had been a timber fence and trust the textured brick wall proposed will respect the tradition of a stock brick garden wall as found in heritage properties from this period.
The Camberwell Society supports this scheme.
