The Society’s publications

We produce publications that are unapologetically local—smart, current, and rooted in the real life of Camberwell. From the Camberwell Quarterly magazine to the “All Our Histories” exhibition-in-a-box for local schools, and a book of favourite neighbourhood walks, our work highlights the people, places, and ideas shaping the area today.

These publications celebrate community voices. By combining storytelling, history and contemporary insight, our publications create engaging resources that inform, connect and inspire residents to take pride in Camberwell’s evolving identity.

Camberwell Quarterly

The Camberwell Quarterly is our flagship publication. Each edition features articles and photographs about neighbourhood life and events, turns back the pages to remember our vibrant history, and focuses on important issues facing the community today.

The dynamic publications team captures and reveals Camberwell’s story. We are journalists, photographers, editors, historians, teachers and illustrators creating well-crafted magazines, books, school resources and exhibitions. Explore Camberwell through the Camberwell Society’s walks and maps, revealing the area’s history, character, and hidden green spaces. Schools

From a one-hour Black History walk through Camberwell to All Our Histories — a Key Stage 3 “exhibition in a box” exploring enslavement, art and local stories — these resources make our complex histories vivid and accessible. Created with leading historians, artists and local partners, they connect past to present. Book now — with exhibitions coming to Camberwell Library and, we hope, Parliament.
